HOME / WELCOME
Rooted in Freedom. Rising in Power. Living in Unity.
The Village of Hope Seattle is more than a nonprofit — we are a movement. A living vision birthed out of faith, resistance, and community power. We are rooted in the African and African American experience and committed to building a liberated world where Black people thrive in every aspect of life.
From Seattle to South Africa, from Mississippi to the Caribbean — we stand for all Black lives. We organize. We lead. We heal. We rise.
✊ Join the movement to build Black excellence worldwide.
Our mission is to empower African-descended people across the globe to reclaim our collective power, rewrite our stories, and live with purpose. We work across generations with elders, youth, children, and families to dismantle racism and create new systems grounded in love, justice, and excellence.
We are building a global community rooted in these principles:
Black Liberation — Ending systems of oppression wherever they exist
Black Excellence — Celebrating and growing our greatness in education, business, leadership, and culture
Community Healing — Restoring what was broken and making space for joy, safety, and truth
Collective Leadership — Lifting up voices, not egos, and building leaders of every age
Through grassroots organizing, education, healing circles, and radical partnerships, we help Black people rise together.

About Us
The Village of Hope Seattle was founded in 2004 as a continuation of the racial justice ministry of Freedom Church of Seattle A bold community of faith committed to the liberation of Black people.
Our founders worked side by side with grassroots organizers, educators, prisoners, and families to confront racism and systems of oppression through love, action, and truth.
Over the years, we’ve helped lead or support efforts like:
Allies for African American Success
Taking Care of Kids Is Power
Undoing Racism Workshops (People’s Institute)
Coalition to Undo Racism Everywhere
The Black Prisoners Caucus
Today, we carry that legacy forward with a modern, global vision for Black excellence, healing, and liberation.
